As we reach the midpoint of the year, it's a time for both reflection and celebration at SMPPS. For our Year 6 students, this marks a significant milestone as they approach the final semester of their primary school journey. It's a time filled with mixed emotions as they prepare for the transition ahead.
YEAR 6 T-SHIRTS: We're excited to announce that the Year 6 students are now proudly wearing their new school t-shirts! What makes this even more special is that the students were actively involved in the design process, adding a personal touch to their final year at SMPPS.
TRANISITION SUPPORT PROGRAM: To assist our Year 6 students in their transition to Year 7, we are fortunate to have a mentoring program in collaboration with Mac Robertsons Girl High School. This program spans over four sessions, where Year 10 students from Mac Robertsons visit our school. These mentors undergo a rigorous application process, demonstrating their commitment to supporting our students. During their visits, they facilitate discussion groups, answering questions about high school and helping ease the transition from primary to secondary education.
YEAR 7 PLACEMENTS: Recently, our Year 6 students received their Year 7 placements for next year. This is an exciting yet cautious time for our students as they anticipate the new journey ahead. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Andrew Beattie for his dedication and meticulous work in overseeing the Year 7 placement process.
As we move forward into the second half of the year, let's continue to support and celebrate our Year 6 students as they embark on this important transition. Together, we look forward to their continued success and growth at SMPPS.
