MARY MACKILLOP

Last week, we celebrated the feast of Mary MacKillop, Australia's first Catholic Saint. Catholic schools express their gratitude to Mary MacKillop and Fr. Julian Tenison Woods, the co-founder of the Sisters of St Joseph, for their pioneering efforts in making education accessible to everyone in Australia, particularly the poor. 

Below is one of her favorite sayings:

INVITATION TO PRAY THE ROSARY WITH YOUR CHILD DURING AUGUST

During August we invite you to join with your child before school to pray one decade of the rosary over the next four Thursdays. We’ve chosen August because the Assumption of Mary is  celebrated on Thursday 15th August.

The Rosary will be led by students across the grades. 

• What: Rosary with your child.
• Time: 8.30am - 8.40am (10 mins)
• When: Thursday for 4 weeks: 15th August, 22nd August, 29th August.
• Where: Holy Family Church

CLASS MASS

Kindergarten will be attending Friday Class Mass on Friday 16 August 9.10am at the Holy Family Church with their teacher and we would love you to join them.

Students who are reading a ‘Prayers of the Faithful’ will be given these prayers to bring home and practice.If your child is reading a prayer we would love you to read with them if you are available.

We will be offering hospitality after Mass so parents and grandparents can enjoy a coffee together and meet new and old friends.  Feel free to bring a plate.

INVITATION TO CLASS MEDITATION 

Parents are welcome to join their child's class for meditation which helps support their well-being and faith to grow. These sessions will be held at 2:45pm in the church.

YEAR 3 FIRST HOLY COMMUNION FAMILIES

We have a special treat for the Year 3 First Holy Communion Families. We are looking for volunteer students with their parents to read a Prayer of the Faithful during the Communion Commitment Masses which are every Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9.30am until Sunday 8 September!.

Please email Mary on pollingerm@syd.catholic.edu.au if you are interested. There is room for six students and their parents for reading the Prayers of the Faithful.
