Physical Education Update

Jessica Preece | Sport Coordinator

We have had an exciting start to the term with plenty of sporting opportunities for the students at St Aidan’s.

STAGE 3 OZTAG

Students in Stage 3 attended the Sydney Catholic Schools Inter-School Sport Program. They played a number of Oztag games against other Catholic Schools from our local area. The students had the opportunity to develop their team working skills, sportsmanship and physical skills. These days are always a great opportunity for the students to take learning outside of the classroom.

BOB MCCARTHY CUP

Some students from Years 3-6 participated in the Bob McCarthy Cup. It was amazing to see students step out of their comfort zone. St Aidan’s students demonstrated the Brigidine Charisms of respect, compassion and justice when competing. Congratulations to all that competed on this day.

NSW TOUCH FOOTBALL GALA DAY

Students in Years 3-6 attended the NSW Touch Football Gala day held at Heffron Fields. The primary purpose of this day was to allow for schools and students to participate in a non-competitive event, encouraging the development of Touch Football. The emphasis of this event was on participation and fun; there was a place on the field for everyone. I loved hearing the stories that the students shared when they came back to school the following day. “Miss Preece I scored a try”, “You should have seen my amazing run Miss Preece”.

CONFERENCE 1 ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

24 of our students represented St Aidan’s at the Conference 1 Athletics Championships. Congratulations to each and every one of these students. I had the pleasure of accompanying them and was so proud to see the encouragement of not only each other but other schools. These students represented St Aidan's with pride, determination and sportsmanship. We are extremely proud of all their efforts.

A huge congratulations to Phillip (Y6) and Kian (Y3) who will be progressing through to the next level. We wish them the best of luck.

Have a great week.
