National Science Week
National Science Week is just around the corner (10-18 August), and The Huddle has put together a quick list of activities to spark whole-school engagement and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).
- Circulate Posters - Download, print, and share the free National Science Week poster within your school to generate excitement.
- Experiment with STEM-linked Classroom Lessons - Encourage your teachers to get creative and theme their lessons around STEM. We understand the effort that goes into lesson planning, so we offer free science-based lessons that blend sports (soccer and motorsport) with science. These lessons are designed by teachers, tested in classrooms, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, and proven to work.
- Create a National Science Week Event - There are no limits on topics, audience, venue, or format— the only requirement is to promote and encourage interest in science, engineering, mathematics, technology, and innovation. National Science Week provides an excellent guide on how to create a successful event.
- Share Your Celebrations via Social Media - Highlight the exciting stories from National Science Week to showcase your school's STEM commitment to parents, government stakeholders, and your team of dedicated teachers.
We hope these suggestions help you create a vibrant and engaging National Science Week at your school.
