Junior Hooptime Basketball State Finals - Future Star Girls 'Owls' Team
On Monday, 4th December, the Junior Future Stars ‘Owls’ girls team proudly represented our school at the Hoop Time Basketball State Finals held at the State Basketball Centre. The Owls earned their place at the state finals after finishing in the top six schools at the regional competition last month.
Throughout the morning session, the girls played four round-robin games (2 x 8-minute halves), winning 1 and narrowly losing 3. Their strong efforts saw them finish third overall in their pool, which secured them a spot in the afternoon elimination finals. Although they were unable to progress further, the girls played extremely well and demonstrated great teamwork, resilience, and determination.
To finish off the day, the team took part in the Championship Parade alongside all participating schools - a wonderful celebration of their hard work and achievement!
A huge thank you to Mr Archard for coaching and to Mr Turner for all his hard work managing and scoring for the day. Also, thanks to the parents who came along to support the team.
Making it to the State Finals Day is an outstanding accomplishment, and the girls should be incredibly proud of finishing as one of the top 20 schools in the state. Congratulations to the Owls on an amazing effort!
