2025 Lions Club Environmental Award (Year 3) | Ben P
Ben P is a most deserving recipient of this year’s Environmental Award. He shows a genuine passion for nature and a strong commitment to caring for our local environment. At POPS, Ben is a wonderful Waste Warrior and works diligently to keep the school grounds tidy. He demonstrates care for animals by collecting rubbish in the yard and regularly checking in on the hens. Ben thrived during our excursion to the Werribee Open Range Zoo, where he actively engaged in sustainability and endangered species activities, contributed thoughtful ideas, and responded thoughtfully to questions. His enthusiasm and dedication to environmental responsibility are commendable. It is with great pride that the Lions Club Environmental Award is awarded to Ben.
2025 Year 4 Pettet Award | Sienna S
This student is an upstander within the POPS community who consistently showcases our school values of respect, kindness, excellence and integrity. She shows genuine care for others, always greeting people warmly and checking in to make sure everyone feels included. In the classroom, she tries her best, shows great initiative and maintains a positive attitude that inspires her peers. Her kindness, inclusivity and role-model behaviour makes her a standout member of Year 4. It is with great pride that the Pettet Foundation Award for Citizenship is presented to Sienna.
2025 Year 4 Literacy Award | Tahlia L
It is with great pride that we present the Mrs. Daniel’s Literacy Excellence Award to a student who embodies a true love of literature. She is an enthusiastic writer and an avid reader, eagerly delving into stories across a wide range of genres. She thoughtfully engages in conversations about the books she reads and often recommends titles to her classmates, inspiring others to discover new literary experiences. Her writing is enriched with vivid detail and imagination, inviting readers into the captivating worlds she creates. She embraces creative challenges, confidently experimenting with different perspectives and continuously refining her skills. With her expressive language, expansive vocabulary, and strong commitment to growth, she demonstrates remarkable literary talent. 2025 POPS Science Award | Douglas H
The recipient of this award is a highly curious and enthusiastic student who approaches every Science lesson with genuine interest and a desire to deepen his understanding of the world around him. He engages thoughtfully in investigations, eagerly sharing his observations and the conclusions he draws with his peers. Dougie shows a strong passion for exploring a wide range of scientific concepts and has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of our solar system, plant life cycles and push and pull forces, often sharing fascinating facts with the class. His enthusiasm and constant curiosity enrich every Science lesson. It is with great pleasure that the 2025 POPS Science Award is presented to Dougie H.
