Last week our VCE students received their results. As a College we would like to congratulate all students on their efforts and wish them all every success in their chosen pathway, whether that be, University, Tafe, an apprenticeship, joining the workforce or taking a gap year.
It gives me great pleasure to announce the 2025 College Dux as Max Crawford with an impressive ATAR score of 94.75. Thank-you to Max for delivering a speech at the Presentation Evening this week, sharing his future aspirations and study tips. We wish him well for his future studies.
Please see a list of all students who received ATAR scores above 90:
Max Crawford 94.75
Phoebe Chuah 94.05
Mia Formichi 93.85
Victoria Beilken 93.75
Narelle Bahlo 93.55
Nathan Wong 93.1
Holly Tellus 92.8
Caleb Smith 92.2
Our annual Presentation Evening was well attended and a wonderful opportunity to recognise student achievement across many domains: academic excellence, endeavour, leadership and service, performing arts, sport and some very significant awards. At the same time, we are very grateful to significant sponsors such as, the Australian Defence Force, the Ringwood RSL, the Lodge of Concentration and Freemasons Foundation, St Vincents, Mr Adrian Mariner (NESTA), Mr Matthew Gregg (Federal Member for Deakin) and Mr Nick McGowan (State Member for the North-Eastern Metropolitan Region) who provided scholarships to hardworking students.
Thank-you to Zac Parr for his leadership of the evening and to all of the Norwood staff for your contributions to making the night so special.
Fidelis Award Winners
The Fidelis Award is awarded to the highest academic performing student in each year level from Year 7 through to Year 11 just like the Year 12 Dux. The following award recipients should be extremely proud of their achievements.
| Year 7 | Maiya Peck |
| Year 8 | Troy Deutrom |
| Year 9 | Charlotte Luke |
| Year 10 | Hamish Clark |
| Year 11 | Heidi Cowie |
To conclude the night, Norwood's major music ensembles collaborated on the final musical item: 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' by the Verve, and arranged by Lauren Innes. It was a wonderful rendition supported by all of our instrumental teachers.
I hope you enjoy the pages to follow in this newsletter as we look back on the year that was and acknowledge the students who received awards this week.
It is finally that time of year where we all look to recharge and refresh. Thank-you to all Norwood staff for another year of hard work and commitment to the Norwood community. Thank-you to all students for your efforts across the academic and co-curricular program and thank-you to families for your support of the College. On behalf of all staff, may you have a wonderful Christmas season and special times with your nearest and dearest. We look forward to 2026.
