Message from the Principal
Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,
What a fabulous week to be at EEPS.
We had a lovely to start the week at Assembly with the presentation of the annual ICAS awards to many of our students and heard from the Percussion Ensemble too. Well done everyone.
Music Opportunities
Last Thursday our Stretto and Copper Strings Ensemble had the privilege of working with an external musician and composer, Karen Kiriakou, to jointly compose and perform a special piece of music. This was another wonderful musical opportunity for many of our EEPS students. I was lucky enough to watch the finished piece which was truly impressive.
Yesterday evening, the Year 3 strings students performed their solo pieces at the annual Strings Soiree, which again I had the privilege of attending. These students certainly drew on the messaging from Assembly and showed bravery, demonstrated their best self and the kindness and encouragement shared was uplifting. There is so much to be proud of.
Home Time Messages and Communicating Updates to Teachers
Just a reminder that if you need to get a message to your child about a different pick-up arrangement in the afternoon then please call the office. Teachers have busy schedules and don’t always see emails. The office staff are best placed to pass important information onto your child.
Jumpers and Hoodies
As the weather is still so changeable many students are taking their jumpers and hoodies off in the playground but forgetting to collect them when they return to class. Teachers are working with their classes to designate a drop off place for jumpers to help reduce the mountain of lost property that accumulates after our play breaks. Please help us by checking all removeable school uniform items are clearly named. If your household has a missing jumper or hoodie, it is most likely in the lost property cupboard outside the Art room.
Looking Ahead
This week, we have the Year 1 activity night and I know everyone is energised for that!
Today at lunchtime, we have a Teachers v Bradman House volleyball match. This caused a whirl of excitement when announced at assembly on Monday. Check out the results on Facebook.
Next week, we have the famous EEPS Market Days, Tuesday 2nd and Thursday 4th December. Further information is provided in the Newsletter for those families in the Junior school, or who are new to the school this year.
We also have the EEPS Family Christmas Picnic on Wednesday 3rd December. We are seeking volunteers to help with the BBQ. If you can spare 45 minutes to assist, please add your name to the roster using the link below:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CONloOJFzKrH7mN6GQM8Olh7B8jgkroO4ChPd7030n8/edit?usp=sharing
Lastly, please don’t forget that next Friday 5th December is our whole school Curriculum Day, so a student-free day. OSHC will be offering a program if required.
I look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events across the last few weeks of the 2025 school year.
Warmest regards,
Lisa Joseph
