NEWSLETTER REPORT – TERM 4, WEEK 9
Principal’s Report
What a challenging—but ultimately fabulous—year we have had. While the year began with some complexities, the dedication and support of our staff and parent community enabled us to realign our school with a strong focus on learning, wellbeing and improved facilities. I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together.
Our students have had a successful year of learning. Our NAPLAN data reflects excellent progress, and our comprehensive Wellbeing program continues to support students to feel safe, supported and ready to learn. It has been wonderful to see students grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.
This year, we have also become more efficient in our use of Compass, making communication, event management and school processes clearer and more streamlined for families.
Our School Council has worked diligently to ensure we have an Out of School Hours Care provider that suits the needs of our community. We thank TheirCare for their partnership and support. I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our Parents and Friends Committee, who have worked tirelessly to organise enjoyable community events and raise valuable funds for the school.
Thanks to fundraising efforts over recent years, we are excited to be upgrading the basketball courts early next year. In addition, we have continued to improve our school grounds and facilities, including new garden beds featuring “hero plants” that make our school more welcoming, the new flagpole garden, a new middle school toilet block, and the installation of electronic door access to enhance safety.
We have also worked closely with local community partners such as Kingswim, Stir Crazy Kids canteen and Lazers to strengthen and reinvigorate our sense of community connection.
Most importantly, our students have learned, laughed and enjoyed their year at school—and that is what matters most. It truly has been a great year, and I thank our entire school community for your ongoing support.
We have thoughtfully planned ahead for 2026:
-Our 2026 classes and teachers have been organised through a comprehensive process.
-Our Playleaders and Captains have been announced (more details captured within the newsletter). At the start of the year we will establish the monitor positions.
-We’ve moved some of our specialist classrooms for 2026 for greater efficiency.
-We realigned classes with the Sculpture courtyard to make it a space just for Foundation students.
-Our PFC will not operate in 2026, but we will work together with School Council to ensure our students do not miss out on any fun events
-We will develop the Student Engagement Leaders program so they can work with School Captains to run fun events at school
-We will have day camps for our Year 3s and 4s and overnight camps for Years 5 and 6 in response to feedback from our community.
So we have an exciting year ahead.

Graduation 2026
This time of year is always both joyful and bittersweet as we farewell our Year 6 students and celebrate the completion of their primary school journey. As they prepare to begin an exciting new chapter at secondary school, we reflect on the many memories and achievements they leave behind.
Our Year 6 students enjoyed a fun-filled final week, including a day at Gravity Zone, the Amazing Race, completing their scrapbooks, the Graduation Ceremony and the Year 6 BBQ. These experiences provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate friendships, reflect on their learning and mark this important milestone together.
We wish our graduating students every success and happiness as they move on to the next stage of their learning journey. They will always be an important part of our school community.
As we come to the end of the year, we wish all families a happy, safe and relaxing break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year.
Kind regards
Deb Haddow
We know life is busy, but there’s real power in community. We’re calling on our local legends to help with a few small projects — things we’d rather not outsource if we can keep it in the neighbourhood!
We’re currently looking for:
A licensed gas plumber for compliance checks
Carpenters for a fencing project
An air conditioning mechanic (for holiday servicing)
A landscaper for garden planning
Green thumbs for light weeding and pruning
Even an hour of your time makes a big difference. If you’re able to help or want more info, please contact the front office — Bluey, our Facilities Manager, will be in touch.
Let’s keep building a strong, connected community — together!
