Group 6

Group Six has had such a wonderful end to the year. This term we have enjoyed welcoming our new classmate Harrison, everyone was so welcoming and helped him settle in straight away. Over the last term we have been working very hard in our structured learning rotations. Students have developed their independence in completing tasks and following visual schedules and instructions.

In group circle we have been focusing on recognizing and expressing different emotions and following along to movement activity songs. All of the students really enjoy our time in group circle, spending time alongside their peers and participating in play and music activities.

Another highlight of this term has been our swimming sessions. It has been amazing to see the students progress with their swimming skills. Students thoroughly enjoy their swimming sessions and are developing more confidence in the water.

We have loved watching the chicks hatch and grow this year. Students looked forward to visiting the eggs in the incubator each day and counting how many chicks we had, and how many eggs we had. We made a class journal to follow along with the chick’s journey.

This last week we have been very busy preparing for Christmas. We have played with shaving foam, drawing snowflakes, tracing patterns, and enjoying sensory play. Students each made a ‘snow globe’ using water, glitter and food dye. We also did a bit of Christmas baking; everyone especially loved this part!

Renee and I would like to thank the families for all of your support and dedication this year. We have had a lovely year and are so proud of each and every student.

We wish you a safe and happy holiday,

Mackenzie and Renee
