A Heartfelt Thankyou to our Parent Community

As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, I would like to sincerely thank all our parents and families for your continued support, partnership and trust throughout the year. Your involvement, encouragement and commitment to our school community have played an important role in making this year such a positive and successful one for our students.

Together, we have shared many moments of learning, growth and celebration, and we are truly grateful for the strong sense of community we share.

We wish all our families a very safe, happy and restful holiday period. May this time be filled with joy, relaxation and special moments with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.

The Season of Advent

Yesterday marked the third day of the Season of Advent. The third candle is the Candle of Joy.

Advent is a season of hope, peace, joy and love. It is a time to nurture peace and experience joy, in anticipation for the love that we all share through the experience of celebrating the birth of Jesus.

As you and your family prepare for Christmas, remember to focus on this time of preparing your hearts and minds for Jesus birth. Wake up each day with the purpose of inviting Jesus into your heart and allow the purpose of Advent to transform your daily actions and focus.

The Joy Candle:

The 'JOY' candle is lit on the 3rd Sunday of Advent  and it is pink and symbolises the positive feeling we have as we anticipate the birth of Christ. All who where present at the birth would of Jesus would have found joy in knowing that finally our saviour is alive with us as was promised in the scriptures.

Today's School Advent Liturgy for the 3rd Week

Today, our Year 5 students led our Advent Liturgy beautifully, guiding us through prayer, music and scripture focused on the theme of 'Joy' and  'hope'. They invited us to reflect on how we have been messengers of hope and joy during this pilgrim year.

The students shared scripture about John the Baptist, who played a significant role in preparing the way for the Kingdom of God through his ministry of healing and baptism. Even while imprisoned for standing up for his beliefs, John received a message of hope when Jesus assured him that the work he had begun was continuing.

Jesus’ words reminded us of the power of hope:

“Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news preached to them.”

This message brought great joy and reassurance to John during his time in prison. The liturgy concluded with a reminder of John’s faithfulness and humility, as Jesus affirmed his importance in God’s plan.

We thank our Year 5 students for leading such a meaningful and prayerful liturgy that encouraged our community to continue living with hope and joy this Advent season.
