On Friday, 21 November, our current Year 6 students from the TKC Primary Campus and new students joining from other Primary Schools took part in our Year 7 Orientation Day.

The day was designed to help students feel confident and excited as they prepare for the transition to Secondary School. Students enjoyed meeting Mr Kane Hayter, who will be their Head of Year in 2026, some of the Heads of Learning Area, connecting with new classmates, touring the Secondary campus, and taking part in a range of team-building activities.

The Orientation Day also gave students a taste of what life in Year 7 will look like, including an introduction to key learning areas, wellbeing support, and the routines that help our Secondary School run smoothly. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 cohort next year and supporting them as they begin this next stage of their learning journey at The King's College.

A big thank you to all the staff who helped on the day, in particular, Mr Hayter for coordinating and managing the event.

Our Year 10 students enjoyed an unforgettable evening on the annual River Cruise last week. From the moment the boat pulled away from the jetty, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Students spent the night dancing, laughing, and enjoying time with friends as the city lights reflected beautifully across the water. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed to impress and embracing the opportunity to celebrate together as a cohort. The DJ kept the energy high, the views were stunning, and the sense of community was stronger than ever. Staff were incredibly proud of the way students conducted themselves throughout the evening, showing maturity, gratitude, and school spirit. A huge thank-you to the supervising staff for making the night safe, memorable, and full of joy - Mr Caizley, Mrs Lorenzen, Mrs Plandran-lane, Mr Zver, Mrs Au, Miss Aguila, Mrs Dlugocz and Mr' T Hart. The Year 10 River Cruise was truly a highlight of the school year.

On 5 November, the Year 8 cohort and our awesome PC staff attended our social at Zone Bowling in Rockingham. While there, we had the opportunity to learn new bowling techniques, eat some yummy food, and have many laughs. Highlights include Mr Harris delivering some of the fanciest strikes we've ever seen, accidentally pouring lemonade thinking it was water and everyone competing for that final score. Everyone had a wonderful time!

RKAS Semester 2 Sports Wrap-Up

Mr Tim Harris | Secondary Sports Coordinator

Semester 2 was packed with energy, resilience, and outstanding participation from our students across a range of Rockingham Kwinana Associated Schools (RKAS) Interschool competitions. Our focus this semester was on engagement, skill development, and creating a strong team culture, and our students delivered.

From the courts to the fields, students eagerly represented the College in Junior and Senior Volleyball, Junior Soccer, Year 7 Basketball, 7–9 Girls Basketball, and Touch Football. Across all competitions, they demonstrated integrity, sportsmanship, and pride in wearing the College uniform.

The Touch Football One-Day Carnival was a standout event, with our Years 8/9 mixed team finishing middle of the ladder with three wins and three losses. Competing against seven other schools, the team held their own with scores of only +2 between games, highlighting tight matches and impressive teamwork. Their attacking flair and quick ball movement kept spectators engaged, and their defence improved each round. Most importantly, every student remained positive, supportive, and hungry to play, regardless of the scoreboard.

Across all RKAS sports, the growth of our student-athletes was remarkable. For many, it was their first time competing at this level, and their confidence on the court and field noticeably increased week by week. Staff noted strong camaraderie among students across year groups, increased training attendance, and students demonstrating greater responsibility in their team roles.

Thank you to all staff who coached, supervised, scored, and supported our teams. Your commitment makes these opportunities possible. We also thank our families for cheering on from the sidelines throughout the year and ensuring students could fully participate.

We encourage all students to get involved in the new MARKAS Sport (Mandurah and Rockingham Kwinana Associated Sport) in 2026, which has even more sports planned as One-Day carnivals. Whether students are experienced or just beginning, there's a place for everyone, and every contribution makes a difference. The Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) 's maxim is "Sport in the right spirit". Let's keep building a culture of pride, participation, and perseverance.'

Year 11 Bowling and Beach Day

Mrs Karin Au | Head of Year 11

What a glorious day it was for our Year 11 students to celebrate the end of the school year with a combined bowling and beach day on Thursday, 27 November. The sunshine, the laughter, and the strong sense of camaraderie made it a memorable experience for everyone involved. A special congratulations goes to Ben Chogah, who achieved the highest bowling score of the day. The award for Best Team went to Kiandra, Jasmin, Claire, Princess, Shannah and Lily, who showed fantastic teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the event. As their Head of Year, I could not be prouder of this exceptional group of young people. They have worked hard, supported one another, and demonstrated resilience and dedication across all aspects of school life. They truly are a special cohort who consistently give their best. We look forward to welcoming them into their final year of schooling in 2026 and cannot wait to see what they will achieve.

On Thursday the 27th of November the year 11 students came together for one last time for 2025. We departed school and travelled to Zone Bowling in Rockingham where teams went head to head competing for the most points. After two exhilarating games we headed to Rockingham foreshore. There we split into small groups and headed off for lunch. Some skipped lunch and headed straight to the ice cream stores while others went by their favourite cafes, fish and chips shops, and restaurants. After fun and games in the cooled ocean water we took what I would consider a family photo all together to end the day

As my time at The King's College comes to an end, I reflect on days like this, when memories are made and treasured for a lifetime. Over the last four and a half years, The King's College has become so much more than peers and teachers, it's family. The King's College is more than a place of education; it's a place where people come together as a strong community to build and encourage each other, to support each other in times of need, and to advance God's kingdom advance. As one chapter comes to an end for me, I reflect on all the experiences I have had at The King's College. I'm so grateful for everything I have both inside and outside the classroom. | Kiandra H.
