Leadership Update

School Wide Positive Behaviour Strategy (SWPBS)

Over 20 canteen vouchers have been awarded to students for their multiple green chronicles (positive notes). We are pleased students are being celebrated for doing the right thing. Next year we will focus on Care and Respect in relation to our SWPBS Matrix. Keep up the great work!

Year 12 Valedictory Celebrations

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 – a wonderful night was had by all. Our College Captains delivered inspiring speeches, and it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces, proud of their achievements and excited to have completed their schooling.

Our alumna, Zoe Tuttleby (Class of 2016), spoke about exploring several pathways – from pursuing dance and musical theatre to completing a Nutrition degree – before realising through her Master of Primary Teaching that education was the right path for her. After seven years at university, she graduated in 2023 and is now in her second year as a primary school teacher, grateful to have found a career she loves. Zoe shared an important message with the Class of 2025: there are many pathways to success

A heartfelt thank you to Meagan Garnham, Laura Brancatella, Jeff Micallef, and Ting Pan for organising and running the evening.

We can’t wait to celebrate these achievements at our Presentation Night on Tuesday.

Congratulations must also be extended to all students who have completed their senior school studies, whether in the VCE or VCE-VM pathway. Your achievements and contribution to the College are truly outstanding. Thank you to families, teachers, and educational support staff who have supported these students throughout Years 7–12.

Our Pathways Coordinator, Chris Kotsonis, is available to discuss pathway options. His email is Chris.Kotsonis@education.vic.gov.au

Working Bee – Thank You!

Our first Working Bee for 2025 was held on the 30th of November. Students, parents, carers and staff worked hard weeding, tidying garden areas, picking up rubbish, removing old fencing, and much more. Thank you to everyone who participated—especially on such a rainy day!

A big thank you to: Paul and Kathy McNeill, Kara Lowe, Fiona, Ashley and Angus Murrie, Sandra Field, Holly Chandran, Arvind Chandran, Kate Branford, Nicole Sternbergs, Lola and Chris Merrifield. Special thanks to Paul McNeill for leading the Working Bee.

We are planning to hold a Working Bee each term next year and look forward to seeing more members of our school community join us.

Emergency Management Drills – Lockdown & Evacuation Procedures

Each term this year, we have conducted our Emergency Management drills, including lockdowns and evacuations. We have recently introduced a colour-coded system to support clear communication:

  • Black – Full lockdown
  • Amber – Stay in class, continue teaching and learning, avoid students leaving the classroom.
  • Green – All Clear

Our most recent drill was planned and carried out while the school had no internet access. The drill proceeded smoothly, and afterwards we gathered feedback on what worked well and what could be improved.

Please note that in the event of a real emergency, we will follow all Department of Education (DE) guidelines. If a student is directly affected during an incident, contacting their parents/carers will be an urgent priority, in line with DE procedures.

In the event of an emergency, we will coordinate the communications to parents/carers with the Department of Education and aim to send them as soon as possible.

During an actual emergency, the Chief Warden – a member of the Principal Team – will act as the “single source of truth”. The office staff will be provided an approved script to respond to calls. At all times we do not make any comments to the media.
