Wisdom – Grin and Tonic Theatre Company

As part of our Drama program, students had the opportunity to view Wisdom, a compelling performance by Grin and Tonic Theatre Company. Originally created in response to the rise of youth activism and figures like Greta Thunberg, the play remains just as relevant in today’s context as it was in 2019.

Wisdom explored thought-provoking themes such as civil obedience, maturity, loss, and the complexities of navigating a world filled with misinformation and ‘fake news.’ Through powerful performances and dynamic storytelling, the production challenged audiences to consider the responsibilities of youth in shaping the future.

This live theatre experience was highly beneficial for our students, offering rich insights into contemporary Australian theatre and providing valuable material for their course of study.

Music

Music tuition and ensemble rehearsals have resumed this week, and we are delighted to welcome our new students to the program! We look forward to seeing them connect with fellow musicians and immerse themselves in our vibrant music community.

The Ensemble Rehearsal Schedule is available via the link below.

Year 2 Beginner Keyboard Class

Wednesday afternoons, 3:15pm to 4:00pm in MU2

This group class is designed to introduce Year 2 students to fundamental keyboard skills, setting the foundation for future private lessons. The cost is $65, which will be divided among participants and added to school fees.

Year 1 Junior Musicianship Club

Thursday afternoons, 3:15pm to 4:00pm, Primary Music Classroom.

This free class, based on the Kodály approach and aligned with the Australian Curriculum, offers Year 1 students a structured and creative way to develop their musicianship skills. Through singing, movement, improvisation, and instrumental techniques, students will deepen their understanding of music in an engaging and age-appropriate setting. At the end of each term, families will be invited to an open lesson to share in their child’s learning journey.
