Dear Swinburne Community,
Another year has passed, and we are celebrating many successes. The class of 2024 has achieved very pleasing results with an increase in both the median study score and the number of scores over 40. This is a great achievement in addition to the achievements of our students who have completed the VM and unscored pathways. We congratulate all our students on displaying the perseverance to complete year 12.
Of particular note are the 7 students who have been shortlisted for Top Arts, Top Designs, and Top Screens. This is an incredible achievement and acknowledges the work done in our art program. I congratulate the students involved and their teachers for this impressive achievement.
This year has also seen the completion of the schools’ new $24m Sport Centre. The Centre, located on Camberwell Road, is now an important facility for the school. We have also seen upgrades in the Design Space with investment in state of the art machinery and design technology.
In 2025 improvements in the rehearsal space for our music students and an upgrade to the student toilets is planned. We are constantly upgrading and updating our facilities for the benefit of our students so they can learn in a safe and modern learning environment.
All of this is not possible without the dedicated staff at the school. The staff at Swinburne Senior SC are a dedicated, hardworking, and expert group of teachers and support staff. I thank them all for their work supporting the students at the school.
In 2025 we are fare welling the following staff Danni Bunker, Maddie Cole, and Lee Appleton. They have all accepted jobs at other state schools for 2025. We wish them the best in their new schools.
We are also fare welling Gail Bailey and Florence Taylor who have both retired during the year.
I hope that everyone enjoys the holiday season. We are looking forward to another year of engagement and learning at Swinburne in 2025.
