Welcome to 2025!

Welcome to all of our students, staff and families to the 2025 school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new and returning families to the school. The first week has been really settled across the school with our students beginning to learn routines and structures in their new classes. It has been wonderful to see happy and focused students in classrooms and establishing early relationships that for a successful year ahead.

Staffing updates

This year we welcome three new teachers to Marion Primary School.

We would like to welcome Katrina Finis who is working in Room 2, Year R/1, Caitlin McLaren in Room 3, Year 2 and Chris Haddad who will be teaching PE and Health. We would also like to welcome back Karly Miller to Marion PS. Karly will be teaching Science this year.

Lost Property/Secondhand Clothing

Last chance to check lost property for any missing items from 2024. Lost property is located opposite the first aid room.

A reminder that second-hand clothing is available for sale. If you wish to purchase items, please see Candia and Mel in the front office.

Acquaintance Night / AGM

Acquaintance Night / AGM is being held on Tuesday 11th February 2025 (Week 3). Parents will be able to meet their child's classroom teacher/s and receive important information about class routines and structures. Information covered will include:

Class expectations
Structure and routines
Communication processes
Homework
Term Overview
Additional teaching information
Specialist subject information

This year we will be holding a welcome BBQ prior to the AGM and Acquaintance night

The format/structure for Acquaintance Night / AGM is:

AGM will take place in the Library from 6 pm - 6:45 pm.
- Information regarding the AGM was sent home via email earlier this week. Please take note and if you are interested in nominating for Governing Council this year, please be in touch as soon as possible.
Class teachers will offer two 20-minute sessions, face-to-face in classrooms
- Session 1 - 6:45 pm - 7:05 pm
- Session 2 - 7:05 pm - 7:25 pm (repeat of Session 1)

We are looking forward to a wonderful year working with all students, staff and families at Marion PS.
