From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS Community

It was a wonderful day of fun and competition at Sports Day last week. Congratulations to all of our students for doing their best and supporting each other. We witnessed excellent team work throughout the day that saw Jacaranda take out both the Collaboration trophy and Overall Winner trophy. Congratulations Jacaranda!

Sports Day is a great opportunity for our community to come together and it was wonderful to see so many family and community members join us on the day.

On Wednesday, 2 April I held the first in a series of evening parent workshops. To begin these regular sessions, I screened the documentary ‘Chasing Childhood’ that investigates the importance of ensuring our children are able to engage in more free play throughout their childhood to offset the rise of anxiety and depression in our young people.

It was great to meet with a number of school families on the night and I would encourage all families to come along to one of the sessions next term to join me for an evening of learning and discussion.

As the first term of the school year nears an end, I take the opportunity to thank our dedicated teachers and staff for their ongoing commitment to our learners and school community. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and play a pivotal role in the development of our students as learners and members of a school community.

Yours Sincerely

Darren

Communicating with our Staff

While there are several ways information is communicated to our community, the bulk of our communication including newsletters and excursion forms is sent via email to both parents/carers of each child. The email will appear in your inbox from GREENWITH PS EdSmart Notice with the sender being forms@edsmart.com

*Please check to make sure the emails are not in your junk folder!

And keep us updated if your contact details change*

2025 Materials & Services Charge (School Fees)

Greenwith Primary School 2024 Materials and Services fees have been set at $355.00 per student as per the watermark notice approved by the Chief Executive Officer of the Department for Education (refer to Education Act section 106A).

The SA Government $200 rebate will apply again for 2025 with the credit being applied to each child’s invoice. Eligible School Card applicants are exempt from the rebate.

The school community was polled late 2024 and the outcome of the poll was successful, therefore the community did support to fully legally recover all of the 2025 school fees. The standard sum (compulsory to pay and legally recoverable) total of $355.00. The standard sum minus the Government rebate will only leave $155.00 compulsory to pay.

Fees are required to be paid in full by April 11th, 2025 (end of term 1) unless you have applied for School Card and are waiting on an outcome or have completed a Payment Plan (see below).

School Card scheme (assistance for low-income families)

The School Card scheme is administered by the Department for Education (DfE) and provides financial assistance towards the educational expenses incurred by families at government and non-government schools who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for School Card assistance is dependent upon the combined family income for the 2023/2024 financial year being within the School Card income limits. School card applications are lodged online. Information and applications can be found at www.sa.gov.au/education/schoolcard

If you have any questions, please get in touch with the School Card team on 1800 672 758. NOTE: A new application for School Card must be completed and lodged each year.
