Extra-Curricular at MAG

Extra and Co-Curricular Music – Term 4 Update
Term 4 is off to a flying start in the Music Department, with instrumental lessons and ensembles already in full swing.
Mid-term will bring the always popular Rock Band Concert on Monday 10 November (Week 6), showcasing the talent and energy of our student bands. Keep an ear out too for another pop-up lunchtime band performance in the works!
Our Junior Singers are also preparing for a special bus trip to perform at two local aged care homes—a wonderful way to share music with our community and present our learning.
Select students will have opportunities to shine at both Primary and Secondary Assemblies, as well as the end-of-year Presentation Assemblies.
Behind the scenes, Mr Kevin Kiely is excited to be auditioning students to form the newest line-ups for MAG Drumline A and Drumline B. We wish all auditioning students the very best. The Global Folk Ensemble has welcomed some enthusiastic new recruits and is already sounding bright and beautiful—we look forward to their next appearance.
The school will soon be acquiring keyboards for students who are currently taking lessons without access to their own instruments. Families interested in hiring a keyboard are encouraged to contact the school to register their interest as they become available throughout the term.
It’s set to be yet another busy and inspiring term of music-making—thank you for your continued support of our extra-curricular music program.
