Principals Report

It has been a very busy and productive start to the term, with students and staff preparing for upcoming exams. Year 10 exams will take place in Week 4, followed by Years 7–9 in Week 5. Congratulations to all our Year 10 students who have already organised their work experience placements. This is such an invaluable opportunity to explore potential career pathways, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to the many local businesses and community members who have so generously welcomed our students.

Our HSC students are currently sitting their final exams, and we wish them the very best of luck. This is an important milestone, and we thank our dedicated teachers and supportive parents for guiding our students throughout their journey. We hope that each of our Year 12 students achieves their goals and feels proud of their efforts and achievements.

Earlier this week three of our senior leadership team represented the school at the Lions Youth of the Year Competition — Lysie Newbury, Azalea Singh, Will Lynn and Jayden McIntyre. All three students did our school proud, showcasing outstanding confidence, leadership, and communication skills. Congratulations to Will Lynn, who will progress to the next round of the competition. Thank you to the local Lions Club for providing this valuable opportunity and to Mrs Gaden and Mr Miller for supporting the students on the night.

Over the coming weeks, several excursions and events will see our students representing the school at State Netball, CAPERS and School Spectacular. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and appreciate the dedication of our staff, parents, and caregivers who continue to support these opportunities. A special thank you also goes to our P&C for their ongoing assistance in helping to offset the costs associated with students representing the school.

Our Multi-Categorical classes have also been enjoying their swimming program this term. The weather has been perfect and it’s been wonderful to see all students participating enthusiastically and enjoying themselves immensely.

This week we hosted our Year 6 into Year 7 Information Evening, which was a huge success. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance, eager to learn about the exciting journey ahead at high school. Our Year 6 students also enjoyed a fantastic BBQ lunch on Wednesday and we look forward to welcoming them back for further transition days later this term.

This term, our focus remains on being in full school uniform and coming to each lesson prepared and ready to learn. Please encourage your child to be an active contributor in creating a positive and respectful learning environment in all classes. With the warmer weather upon us, it’s also important that students bring a hat and a water bottle, which can be easily refilled at our new water stations around the school.

We also have some exciting P&C fundraisers happening this term, including live Christmas trees and fresh peonies. These initiatives are a wonderful way to support our school community, and we encourage families to get involved. Please check out our school Facebook page for links and further details.

We are looking forward to a busy and productive term ahead and thank everyone for their continued support of our students and school community.
