Leongatha Primary School Newsletter - Week 4

 

Dear Leongatha Primary School Families,

 

Welcome to Week 4! We hope you’ve all had a great start to the term. It’s been another busy and exciting week here at LPS, and we’re so excited to share some highlights with you.

 

A Huge Thank You for a Successful Colour Run!

Last week’s Colour Run was a resounding success, raising over $22,000 for our school community! A massive thank you to all our families, students, and volunteers who participated and supported this event. The funds raised are already being put to good use – we’re thrilled to announce that they will go directly towards soundproofing our buildings and upgrading the heating and cooling systems to improve the learning environment for all students. These changes will make a huge difference to everyone’s comfort and concentration, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you once again.

 

Upcoming Events This Week

  • Grade 2 Sleepover – Thursday Night: Our Grade 2 students are in for a treat this Thursday night with their much-anticipated sleepover! We’re expecting lots of fun, games, and a little bit of adventure. Don’t forget to bring your teddies – it’s sure to be a memorable night.

     

  • Grade 6 Community Sport – Wednesday & Friday: Our Grade 6 students will be participating in some fantastic community engagement activities this week. On Wednesday and Friday, they’ll be involved in community sports, connecting with local leaders and getting active with our wonderful community. It’s a great opportunity for our senior students to interact with the wider Leongatha community and gain new experiences outside the classroom.

  • Step into Prep – Friday: We’re also excited to welcome our 2026 Preps for the first time on Friday as part of the Step into Prep program. This is an exciting opportunity for our future students to get a taste of school life, meet their teachers, and explore their new learning spaces. We can’t wait to see their bright smiles and enthusiasm as they begin their journey at LPS.

     

Thank you for your continued support of everything happening here at Leongatha Primary. It’s been a wonderful start to the term, and we’re looking forward to all the exciting things still to come. We encourage everyone to get involved, stay engaged, and keep making the most of all the opportunities LPS has to offer.
