Junior School News

Year 3 to Year 6

A Wonderful Term and a Splash into Term 4!

As Term 3 draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible energy, enthusiasm, and achievements across our Junior School. It has been a busy and successful term filled with rich teaching and learning experiences, joyful community events, and opportunities for students to shine.

One of the highlights was EduDance, where our talented students showcased their creativity, rhythm, and confidence through vibrant performances. The joy on their faces and the pride in their movements were a testament to the hard work of both students and staff. Thank you to our families for your support and encouragement throughout the program.

Looking ahead to Term 4, we’re excited to dive into swimming lessons during the first two weeks. These lessons are not only about developing aquatic skills and water safety awareness, but also about fostering independent life skills. Students will learn to move safely around water, listen attentively, follow instructions, practice sun-safe habits, and change quickly under teacher supervision.

Swimming Lesson Details:

  • Lessons Monday to Friday for two weeks
  • Depart and return to School by bus

To ensure swimming lessons run smoothly, please take note of the following:

What to Wear:

  • Appropriate bathers must be worn.
  • Students wearing bikini-style bathers must wear a rashie shirt over the top.
  • Bathers should be worn underneath clothes when arriving at school.

What to Bring:

  • A towel and thongs/slip-ons in a small waterproof bag (to carry wet items home).
  • Swimming caps and goggles (only if needed).
  • Appropriate underwear to change into after swimming.
    • Note: Students returning close to 3pm will not be changing.
  • Clearly labelled items to avoid mix-ups.
  • Extra recess and lunch is recommended – swimming makes for hungry learners!

Important Reminders:

  • Parents, grandparents, and carers are welcome to watch lessons, but must not approach swim teachers during sessions.
    • Any concerns should be directed to the Head Supervisor in a respectful manner.
  • No food is to be brought to the Armadale Aquatic Centre.
    • Recess and lunch times will be adjusted at the College to accommodate

Wishing everyone a fabulous, relaxing Term 3 break. See you all again soon!

Regards,

Mrs Christine Pitman
