A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends,
As we come to the end of Term 3, our community has much to celebrate. One of the highlights was the official opening and blessing of our Stage 4 and 5 buildings – the new Administration Block and Secondary School classrooms. This occasion was far more than the completion of facilities; it was a milestone in the life of Salvado Catholic College and a reminder of the hope, growth, and opportunity that lie ahead for generations of students. These new spaces are a sign of our commitment to learning, faith, and community, continuing the vision of our patron, Dom Rosendo Salvado, whose legacy of education, service, and compassion continues to guide us today.
We were honoured to welcome a number of distinguished guests to share in this celebration, including Senator Ellie Whiteaker on behalf of the Federal Government and Mr Hugh Jones MLA, Member for Darling Range, representing WA’s Minister for Education, the Hon. Sabine Winton. From Catholic Education WA, we were delighted to host Ms Eva Skira AM, Chair of the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia, and Mrs Annette Morey, Executive Director. We also extend our sincere thanks to Fr Mark Baumgarten, who led us in the blessing and reminded us so clearly that Christ is at the heart of our mission as a Catholic school. The occasion was made even more memorable by the inspiring performances of our Primary Choir and Senior School Dance Troupe. Their talent, confidence, and joy were a true highlight of the day, with many guests remarking on how beautifully they captured the spirit of our College.
This term has also given us many other occasions to gather and celebrate. Our Primary students concluded the EduDance program, filling the hall with colour, movement, and energy as they shared their learning with one another. Members of Vincent House honoured their patron, St Vincent de Paul, through a reflective liturgy and shared lunch, celebrating his call to faith and service. To finish the term, our annual Colour Fun Run, generously supported by the Friends of Salvado, brought joy, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness across the campus.
Moments such as these – both large and small – show what makes our College special: a place where we learn, celebrate, and grow as a community of faith and hope. I am grateful to our students for the way they embrace opportunities, to our staff for their dedication and care, and to our parents for the trust and support they so generously share.
I wish all students, staff, and families a safe and refreshing holiday, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for a vibrant Term 4.
God bless!
Ms Giovanna Fiume
College Principal
