Celebrating the Class of 2025
As Term 4 unfolds, there’s a buzz of excitement and nostalgia in the air as our Year 12 students reach the final stages of their journey at Brentwood. The longer days and warmer weather seem to mirror the energy and optimism of this time of year, as students prepare to complete their final exams and celebrate the end of their secondary schooling.
Over the past few weeks, students have wrapped up their final classes, enjoyed themed dress-up days, and taken time to reflect on their growth and experiences. The coming days will see them gather for the much-loved Year 12 Breakfast, their final formal assembly, and the symbolic guard of honour as they bid farewell to Brentwood. The celebrations will culminate at the Valedictory Evening on Friday, October 17, where students will cross the stage in front of proud families, friends, and staff, marking a defining milestone in their lives.
Year 12 Arts and Technology Exhibition
Creativity and innovation were on full display at the 2025 Year 12 Arts and Technology Exhibition, held on Tuesday, October 14, in the J Block Gallery. The event brought together students, staff, and families to celebrate the artistic achievements of our senior cohort.
The gallery was transformed into a vibrant showcase of student talent, featuring a diverse range of works across visual arts, media, product design, and digital technologies.
Each piece told a unique story of creativity, perseverance, and personal expression. The exhibition not only reflected the technical skill of our students but also their ability to think critically and conceptually about the world around them.
Congratulations to all students involved for their outstanding work, and to our dedicated Arts and Technology teachers whose guidance, encouragement, and commitment made this exhibition possible.
Performing Arts – Lyrebird Youth Award Nominations
We are also proud to share that Brentwood’s Performing Arts Program has been recognised at the 2025 Lyrebird Youth Awards, receiving nominations across all three major categories. Productions including Radium Girls, High School Musical Jr., and Monty Python’s Spamalot have collectively earned over 20 nominations, acknowledging excellence in performance, direction, choreography, and technical design.
While awards are never the goal, this recognition highlights the incredible talent, collaboration, and dedication that go into every Brentwood production.
Congratulations to all students and staff who contributed their time, creativity, and passion to bring these shows to life.
Congratulations to Katie Lim – VCE Leader of the Year
Finally, we extend our warmest congratulations to Katie Lim, who has been named among the top eight VCE Leaders of the Year for 2025. At the state ceremony held at the Treasury Theatre, Katie was recognised for her outstanding leadership in sustainability and student engagement. Her achievements include founding the Schools in Monash Sustainability Committee, coordinating Brentwood’s involvement in National Science Week, and mentoring peers through the English Learning Hub.
We also acknowledge Michiko Versluis, who was nominated for her commitment to student voice and contribution to our learning community. Both students exemplify the values of leadership, service, and integrity that Brentwood strives to instil in all learners.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of our Year 12 students—across academics, arts, leadership, and community—we thank them for their lasting contributions to the Brentwood story and wish them every success in the journey ahead.
