Student Celebrations

Winter PSSA Success
During the winter season, our PSSA teams participated in competitions in football, which is soccer, netball and tiger tag. Students in these teams turned up to training before or after school each week and represented our school in games against other schools. They showed sporting behaviour: competing at their best, being humble when successful and gracious when defeated.
Unfortunately, this year brought a lot of rain and 7 of our 14 rounds were rained out. Although a further 3 rounds were scheduled, only 2 were playable and we were unable to have semi-finals or finals to determine the winner of each competition. Instead, trophies and ribbons were awarded to the premiers and runners up of each competition, based on the ladder at the end of the season.
A big congratulations to three of our teams who were successful in the competitions this year:
- Senior Girls Netball - premiers
- Senior Mixed Netball - premiers
Senior Girls Tiger Tag - joint premiers with Gladesville
We hope everyone will try out for our representative teams next year. It is an honour to represent Meadowbank Public School at sport and a wonderful achievement to win a trophy or ribbon.
Marsden Learning Alliance Chess Competition
Last Friday, Meadowbank proudly hosted the grand final of the Marsden Learning Alliance Chess competition. Congratulations to Ermington A for their outstanding victory in a thrilling match against Melrose Park A. The games were closely contested and showcased impressive skill from all players.
Meadowbank was well represented in the competition this year with three teams. We extend our thanks to all participants for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
A special thank you goes to Benjamin from Marsden High School for expertly adjudicating the games.
Well done to everyone involved in making this event a success.
