Dear families
As we enter the final week of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the many wonderful achievements of our school community this term and share some important information for the coming week and the upcoming school holidays.
On Wednesday, we will be holding our much-anticipated County Fair, a fun-filled event designed to bring our students and staff together while raising funds for the Year 6 Farewell. The fair will feature a variety of stalls, games, and activities organised by our dedicated staff, and students. Students should wear school uniform on the day.
Ancestor Day has been moved to next term because the playground is still being worked on. Don’t worry – it is definitely happening, and we are so excited to celebrate together!
This gives us some extra time:
There is still time to bring in photos for our Ancestors Display if you haven’t yet.
Next term will be a wonderful celebration with our whole Meadowbank community joining in the fun. We can’t wait!
World Teachers’ Day in NSW is an opportunity to recognise primary, secondary and early childhood teachers. World Teachers' Day celebrates quality teaching and inspirational teachers.
There are over 170,000 primary, secondary and early childhood teachers working in NSW. The event is an opportunity to recognise all teachers.
World Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on 5 October. As this date is within the school holidays, NSW celebrates on the last Friday of October.
This year, World Teachers' Day will be celebrated in NSW on Friday 31 October 2025.

As the term concludes, I would like to remind families about the importance of safety during the upcoming school holidays.
Supervision: Please ensure that children are supervised at all times, especially when playing outdoors or visiting public spaces.
Helmets and scooters: For students who ride scooters, bikes, or skateboards, wearing helmets is mandatory. This simple safety measure protects against serious injury and is strongly enforced both at school and recommended during the holidays.
Device use: While technology plays an important role in learning and connecting with others, we encourage families to monitor and guide their children’s use of electronic devices. Setting reasonable limits and encouraging balanced screen time supports wellbeing.
We hope everyone enjoys a restful and safe holiday period, and we look forward to welcoming all students back refreshed and ready for Term 4.
