Log Planned Absences on Compass

A reminder that Tuesday, 4th November, is the Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday and the school will be closed. As in previous years, we understand that many families choose to take an extended long weekend. Given our traditionally low student attendance on Monday, 3rd November, please note the following arrangements:

• Alternate Program: Students attending school will participate in an alternate program and may not be taught or supervised by their usual classroom teacher.
• Staff Leave: Many staff members who have accrued Time-In-Lieu from camps and other school events will be taking leave on this day.
• Canteen: The canteen will be closed.
• OSHC: Before and After School Hours Care will operate as usual, with reduced staffing.

Action required: If your child will be absent on Monday, 3rd November, please submit an Attendance Note via Compass as soon as possible. This will help us plan appropriate supervision and staffing for the day.

Camp Lost Property

There are a number of items of lost property & medication at the office left from camp, please come to collect today.

PE News

Division Volleybounce:

Congratulations to the Girls Vollveybounce team who competed at the Division Finals last Friday. The girls finished runners up in the competition with one win and one loss. They have improved so much across the year, especially with their serving. Well done girls. Also a big thank you to our parents who volunteered to drive the girls to the event. 

Region Athletics:

We would like to wish our 5 athletes all the best today as they compete at the Region Athletics Carnival in Doncaster. CHPS are cheering for you!

Dress Code: Students wear their house colours and appropriate footwear

Visual Art News 

Sparkle and Shine! CHPS Art Show

Our Art Show is on Monday 10th November (Week 6) and we are so excited to showcase what the students of CHPS have created in their Visual Arts lessons throughout the year.  

Raffle booklets will be heading home soon so keep an eye out for them. 

We have some terrific raffle prizes this year:

1st - $300 Zart Art Voucher + materials bundle 

2nd - Family Caricature portrait (up to 5 people) with cartoonist Brett Cardwell valued at $250

3rd - Large basket of chocolate goodies donated by Cadbury valued at $100

Fill out and hand in your  raffle booklets to the office by Monday the 10th November.

Raffle tickets will be on sale at the show, $2 per ticket. 

Other activities on the night include; a photo booth, large posters to colour in, a Scavenger Hunt (with Level prizes on the night) as well as our Art raffle which will be drawn towards the end of the show. 

The BBQ will be sizzling away so you will be able to enjoy a snag or two. 

We hope to see you all at the show.
