Grade 2 News

Welcome back to Term 4!
We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable holiday. The students have settled in wonderfully and are continuing to demonstrate our school values of Excellence, Happiness, Integrity and Community.
We are excited to welcome Ms. Nicole Goodall as the new Grade 2 teacher for 2B, starting this term. Nicole brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for creating a positive and engaging learning environment. We are confident that your children will continue to thrive and enjoy their learning journey with her.
Learning in Grade 2:
Maths:
This term, students have been exploring fractions, understanding different amounts of money, and solving a variety of calculation problems. They are developing strong problem-solving skills and applying their knowledge in practical ways using hands-on concrete materials.
English:
In English, we have focused on the sounds /eer/ and /er/. Students have been practicing their writing, reading fluency, and letter formation to strengthen their literacy skills. It’s wonderful to see their progress in expressing themselves clearly and confidently.
Knowledge/ Literature:
Our History unit has taken us back to Ancient Greece, where students have discovered fascinating myths and learnt about Gods and Goddesses.. Next, we are excited to begin a literature unit centered around the story of the "Woolly Mammoth," which promises to be both engaging and educational.
