Student Engagement and Wellbeing

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 4 of Term 4. This term has already started off with lots of learning, events and fun.
I’d like to welcome Brianna Vale who has joined us this term. Brianna is our Inclusion Leading Teacher and will be working closely with the Wellbeing and Engagement team to provide supports for our students. Brianna has a wealth of knowledge, passion and is eager to contribute to the growth and success of our teachers and students.
Thank you for all your support. Wishing you all a lovely long weekend.
Breakfast Club
It’s been wonderful seeing so many students coming along to Breakfast Club each morning! We’ll be adding toast to the menu on upcoming Fridays — stay tuned!
House Spirit
Our House Captains took part in a workshop last Friday with Petrina and Karen from the House Spirit Program. They reflected on and celebrated their achievements this year. We’re proud of how they’ve strengthened house colour connections across the school. Captains are planning some fun lunchtime activities later this term.
Elephant Ed – Year 5/6
Last week, Elephant Ed completed their final workshop with our Year 5/6 students. The students learned valuable information about puberty and growing up. They participated with curiosity, engagement, and maturity. Well done, everyone!
Social and Emotional Learning
Students are learning to identify their likes and dislikes and to understand their emotions. They are practicing how to express their feelings in respectful ways and how to include and value others. They are also learning how to handle conflict by listening, staying calm, and finding fair solutions. Through class discussions and group activities, students are building skills to work well with others and develop positive relationships.
Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR)
The Respectful Relationships initiative helps schools:
- Promote respect, equality, and positive behaviour.
- Build students’ resilience, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
- Teach how to form healthy and respectful relationships.
This whole-school approach supports a culture of respect and gender, equality, developed after the Royal Commission into Family Violence recognised the important role schools play in shaping future generations.
At our school, we use the Department of Education’s evidence-based RRRR resources, alongside other materials selected by teachers to suit our students and community.
