Foundation students have started a new unit as part of the Science curriculum. They are learning how to participate safely in scientific investigations, and make observations. The topic of focus is water, including how it is used and how it behaves.
Grade 1 and grade 2 students are learning about living things. So far, they know that ALL living things have four basic needs: air, water, food, and shelter. We will go on to learn about how food and fibres are produced on farms, culminating in modelling of a farm using Minecraft Education software.
Grade 3 and grade 4 students are learning about temperature and thermal energy. They have used thermometers to measure temperature accurately and learned that thermal energy transfers as conduction, convection, and radiation. Students will put their new knowledge to the test with a group project in the coming weeks.
Grade 5/6 students have finished building their aircraft. They have moved on to learning about electrical energy, creating simple circuits.
