Enrolments and 2026 Planning Reminder

If you are aware of families intending to enrol in our school for 2026 who haven't done so yet, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible, including families with siblings looking to join our Foundation 2026 group.

If your family is intending to move on in 2026, we're sorry to see you go, but we also greatly appreciate notification as early as possible so we can plan for staffing and classes more accurately.

Staffing Updates

A few shuffles have occurred in staffing as we head into Term 4. Lena Zappia has continued to do a great job of heading up our Performing Arts program and will continue to do so through to the end of the year. In the STEAM Specialist area, Emily Choo was offered a full-time position that she has accepted for Term 4. Emily was very disappointed to be leaving our school but excited about working in a single school for five days per week and exploring some new opportunities outside of the classroom role.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to recruit a new STEAM teacher for the remainder of the year. However, we remain committed to the strong history of STEAM teaching at our school, with students continuing to have weekly exposure to this area of the curriculum. Linked to the Term 4 Inquiry Units, all year classes will visit the STEAM room each week with their class teacher to complete STEAM-focused activities throughout the term.

For this term, we are also adding a weekly library specialist session for each class, where students will have the opportunity to explore library resources related to their Inquiry Units, further building background knowledge and deepening understanding of related concepts and ideas.

We are also very excited to welcome Rebecca Clancey to our teaching team. Rebecca will be teaching the 4AS class for the remainder of 2025. 4AS have done a great job of welcoming Rebecca to the school this week.

Market Day at Robbie Mac

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 teams on a very successful Robbie Mac Mini-Market event today. All of the Year 5 and 6 students had put a great deal of effort into their stalls, which were the culmination of a unit of work focusing on economics and marketing.

Some of the creativity on display was truly outstanding and it was lovely to see the smiles on the faces of the stall-holder and younger students/customers alike. Thank you to families for sending students along with some pocket-money in support of our Mini-Market.

Following the event, staff will nominate stalls that best fulfilled a range of criteria, with the winning stall having the opportunity to appear as part of our upcoming school fair. Congratulations again to all involved.

Annual Coding Challenge

Congratulations also to our 5/6 Coding Team and coordinator Mel Browne on your efforts at the Victorian Coding Challenge yesterday. The team participated in a variety of very difficult challenges related to coding throughout the event and displayed excellent teamwork and creative thinking as they worked towards solutions. Thank you Mel for your support and training of the team and your efforts in taking the students to the event.

SunSmart Reminder – Hats Required Throughout Term 4

As part of our school’s SunSmart policy, the official SunSmart period is now active. We expect that all students will begin wearing their hats, with our 'no hat, no play' system currently in place. Please ensure your child’s hat is clearly labelled and brought to school each day. Spartan Uniforms have hats in stock for purchase if needed. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe in the sun.
