Meet our Multicultural Leaders

MEET OUR 2024 COMMUNITY TEAM

This week we asked our Multicultural Leaders Seth Berugodaarachchi, Aamin Abdellatif and Katelin Du Toit three questions regarding their thoughts and ideas for the school and how they spend their time on weekends and after school.

What do you want people to know about your culture?

S.B. Within my culture we practice Buddhism, however many people aren't aware that there are many versions of Buddhism, with different beliefs and practices.

A.A. Each we celebrate E.I.D  at the end of Ramadan.

K.D.T. We enjoy wood fired "braai" (BBQ). We enjoy socialising while watching rugby. We have 11 different cultures within South Africa, making us the rainbow nation.

What do you want to achieve being a multicultural leader?

S.B. Spread awareness of the different cultures in the world and get people to respect and generally know them.

A.A. Spread awareness of different cultures.

K.D.T. I would like to learn more about different cultures while encouraging others to accept all people from diverse backgrounds.

What’s your favourite hobby outside of school?

S.B. Making crafts including small machines.

A.A. Anything sports but mainly soccer and footy.

K.D.T. I draw and create digital art and characters using my ipad device.
