Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

SCHOOL ATHLETICS

We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather for our school Athletics carnival yesterday. It was fantastic to see the students participating and trying their hardest in all events across very long day. It was very pleasing to see so much comradery as they participated in a very sporting manner. There was a great turn out of parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. We are also very much appreciative of the assistance from parents across the day. A great day like this can not proceed without the support.

This includes all the work at the canteen ensuring students and families were able to access refreshments. A huge thank you must go to Cherine Owen for the day, not only yesterday but in the lead up. It really was a great team effort.

All teams persisted for the entire day but our winning team for 2024 was TERRA.

Well done to all of the students from Year 4-6 who now proceed to the next round of Athletics at Divisional sports.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONGRESS

On the 5th of March seven of our School Leaders and teachers Lidia Allen and Jarryd Lewis attended the Student Leaders Congress at Deakin University.

'The Student Leaders Congress is held each year in February. A day of leadership inspiration brings together student leaders in years 5 to 8 and teachers from local schools to hear from local community leaders, youth shire groups and inspiring leaders who share their stories of leadership.'

The attending students thought that the information was very relevant and inspiring. They learnt that leading is about team work.

On Tuesday 26th March 2024 at 10am and 6pm we are holding tours for prospective parents of students intending to enrol their child in Foundation in 2025.

There will also be a Foundation 2025 information evening on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 at 6pm.

COLOUR RUN - FRIDAY 22ND MARCH

The fundraising committee are well underway with the organisation of this years’ Colour Run which on Friday 22 March.

It’s expected to be another fun-filled event at Warrnambool Primary School and a great fundraiser for our school. We are keen to raise money to put towards much needed facilities at our great school.

There will be helpers required so please get on board and help where you can. It’s also incredibly important that we raise as many funds as we can to upgrade our outdoor play spaces. Donations can be made through Compass Tix, using the sponsorship form or at the school office.

HOT CROSS BUN DRIVE

Believe it or not Easter is fast approaching. Bakers Delight Norfolk Plaza have been incredibly generous sponsors of Warrnambool Primary School in the past and we are keen to support their business as part of our annual Hot X Bun drive. Order forms have been distributed so please support our school and fundraising committee by purchasing Hot X buns through this activity. We know that you will enjoy them.

EASTER RAFFLE

The Easter Raffle is back again this year!

Tickets have been sent home and are $1 each. Hamper donations can be made to the school office by Friday 22nd March. The raffle will be drawn at assembly on Monday 25th March.

Have a great weekend!
