Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

YEAR 2 CAMP PORT FAIRY

Our Year 2 students, teachers and staff are very excited about attending camp at Southcombe Park in Port Fairy next week.

The weather may be quite warm and so staff will amend activities accordingly.

The children in many cases will spend their first night away from home without a parent and so it is a big step for them.

It is a great opportunity to develop their self-esteem and independence. I look forward to hearing about their fantastic experience upon their return.

Thank you to Dale Beane and the Year 2 teaching/support staff for the careful planning and organisation of this great camp.

Next week Year 3 and 4 students will make their way down. Please ensure all consent, medical and other associated forms are complete.

There is no compromise allowed regarding compliance around swimming and school excursions.

No student can attend swimming without the correct documentation.

NAPLAN

This week students in Year 3 and 5 completed their National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy tests (NAPLAN).

All non-exempt students across Australia in Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 sit the tests in the following areas:

Writing; Reading; Conventions of Language (Grammar/ Punctuation/ Spelling) & Numeracy.

It’s important for all parents and carers to understand that these measures whilst very important do not give a full and rich assessment of all of your child’s skills, abilities and achievements.

Well done to all students who worked very hard this week on these assessments.

RIDE2SCHOOL DAY - FRIDAY 22ND MARCH

Ride2School Day is next Friday 22nd March. Students and families are encouraged to get active and ride a bike scooter or even just walk to school.
