Generous Donation 🚲

Verney Road School was lucky to receive 6 bikes via donation from Benalla Men's Shed.

Volunteers Lou & Ian prepared and delivered the bikes to the school.

We cannot wait to get these out in the yard and know we will have some very happy students putting them to the test.

A big thank you to Benalla Men's Shed for thinking of Verney Road School - we appreciate your time and generosity.

Free Fishing Kits! 🎣

The Victorian Government is investing $1.5 million to provide FREE ‘Little Angler Kits’ to all primary aged students at specialist schools, including Verney Road School.

The kits include a rod, reel with line, tackle tray, some tackle and information on how to use them to catch a fish.

These free fishing kits can be collected by parents & carers from the VRS Front Office.

Contact us if you would like us to put one aside for you - call (03) 5821 8185.

Please note that the tackle tray includes fishing hooks and lead sinkers. The tackle tray will be wrapped in cardboard and placed inside a pocket inside the fishing kit bag, which will be sealed with a cable tie to discourage students from opening their kits until they are with a parent or carer. We are unable to send these home on buses for safety reasons.

This initiative aims to grow recreational fishing participation in Victoria by actively encouraging primary school aged children to learn how to fish, as well as learning more about marine life and the natural environment.

As this will be our last newsletter before the Easter Break, we wish you all a happy and safe holiday.

Enjoy your weekend 😄
