Dear Parents and Carers,

Easter Message

We began our Holy Week journey as St Joseph's Parish and School with the beautiful Palm Sunday Vigil Mass on Saturday evening in the Church hosted by our Stage 3 students and attended by many students, families and staff. It was wonderful to see so many students participating in the mass and the singing was truly amazing. Thank you Fr Paddy for celebrating the mass with us all and for your continual encouragement and support as our faith leader and to Mrs Salmon for her organisation and Mr Pratt for leading the music.

Today, all of our students reenacted the different parts of our Christian Holy Week Story finishing with the Resurrection of Jesus. As I said today, my heart was filled with such joy, pride and thanks at the way the students retold this sacred story. This could not have been possible without the impeccable organisation of our Religious Education Coordinator Mrs Salmon and all of our staff. It was lovely to see so many families join us for the paraliturgy and support the students.

I hope your Easter Celebrations this weekend will provide an opportunity for your family to relax and enjoy one another’s company as we remember the life, death and resurrection of Jesus which is central to our Catholic Christian Faith.

It’s been so appropriate this Holy Week, we have focussed on ‘COMPASSION’ as our school value. Jesus showed us compassion in all that he did on earth by reaching out to the oppressed and those who were outcasts. Compassion forms a very big part in our school motto ‘Christ Our Way’.

On behalf of our staff at St Joseph's Primary Junee, I wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Easter. Stay safe and we look forward to everyone returning to school on Tuesday 2nd April, 2024.

Many blessings,

Angela Scott

Cross Country

Thank you to Mrs Salmon, Mr Pratt and the staff for a very successful whole school Cross Country on Tuesday morning. We also appreciated all the support of the parents and families who attended. The students all tried their best and showed wonderful sportsmanship. Our best wishes to the 24 students who have made it away to the Diocesan Cross Country in Griffith on 9th April, 2024.

Acceptable use of Technology Policy

Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga have released their policy on acceptable use of technology (please refer to the attachment below). I encourage you all to take the time to read this policy to ensure your understanding. The purpose of this document is primarily to ensure the cybersafety of our staff, students and their families. This means we are educating our students to be respectful digital citizens today and in the future.

SJJU Social and Fundraising Committee

A big thank you to the parents who attended the last Committee meeting on Wednesday 20th March. A separate letter will come out next week with the calendar of events for the year and which classes are responsible for what event/fundraiser.

Tea Cups and Tea Pots

If you have any old tea cups/saucers/plate sets at home or tea pots that you would be happy to donate to the school we would really appreciate this as we are trying to build up our own school collection for the Mother’s Day High Tea which will be coming up in May.

Athletics Carnival

An event notification went out this week to remind parents of our Athletics Carnival on Monday 8th April. Anyone willing to assist with canteen could you please contact Lisa Oliver on 0438 244 484 so we can roster you on. It’s important that all parents get the opportunity to see their children race so it would be great if parents could rotate in the canteen to allow this. Canteen orders need to be completed on QKR by Tuesday 2nd April at 10.00am.
