Performing Arts Prep - Year 6
It has been very rewarding working with all classes from Prep to Year 6 during Performing Arts sessions in Term 1. During last week's lesson the children completed a self-reflection of their learning. Their feedback was informative, entertaining and helpful for the planning of future lessons.
Some of the children’s comments:
- I have learned that your body can be used as a percussion instrument.
- I have learned to sing ‘My Own Superhero’ and I especially like the lyrics, ‘That’s when I have got to believe there is power and courage in me’. We do lots of fun stuff.
- I have learned how to feel and count the beat and the rhythm and how to sing louder!
- I have learned new songs and lots of new notes and about the 8 elements of music.
- I have learned to use percussion instruments properly and to make the sound nicer!
- I have enjoyed playing the chime bars and the ‘Music House Song’.
- I have enjoyed playing musical instruments. I love music because I feel it’s hard to show some emotions that I can play through music
- I have enjoyed the musical time we have had together and I have learned to work well in a musical team.
- Even better if we had more Performing Arts lessons!
Best wishes for Term 2
