Year 10 Exams

Year 10 Semester 1 Examination Period - Term 2, Week 5
Monday 18 May - Friday 22 May
All Year 10 students will undertake scheduled examinations during Week 5 of this term. For many students, this will represent their first experience with an examination-style assessment, designed to assess learning across a full term of curriculum content.
Blended Attendance Model
During the Week 5 examination period, Year 10 students will operate under a blended attendance model. Under this arrangement:
- Students are required to be on site for all examinations and scheduled elective courses.
- Structured, scaffolded directed study periods are included in the timetable at designated times across the week. These sessions will be supervised by teachers and students are expected to attend and engage productively.
At times when no examination or scheduled class is required, students will have approved off-site flex time. This is an intentional and structured arrangement designed to support students' gradual transition towards the greater independence expected in senior school.
Examination Timetable
The following examinations are scheduled across Week 5. Language examinations are scheduled separately for Thursday of Week 6.
- Mathematics — All Extension, Pathway 1 and Pathway 2 students
- English — All Year 10 students
- Science — All Extension and Pathway 1 students
- HASS — All Year 10 students
- AXSELL — Enrolled students only (elective course examination)
- Languages — Enrolled students only (elective course examination) — Thursday, Week 6
Given students are enrolled in different course combinations, individual timetables may vary slightly. This includes students studying 10 Vocational Mathematics and/or 10 Pathway 2 Science, for whom alternative arrangements apply. However, for reference, please see the following as a broad overview of the Week 5 structure:
Off-Site Flex Time — Consent Required
As this blended model includes periods where students may be off school premises during school hours, parent/carer consent is required before these arrangements can proceed.
You will receive separate communication via Consent2Go requesting permission for your child to be off site during approved flex periods. This communication will also include your child’s individual examination timetable and the specific flex periods applicable to them. Please ensure this is completed promptly. Without completed consent, students will be required to remain on site during all flex periods.
