Learning Across the
Senior School

Our Year 11 students recently participated in a Reflection Day, providing them with a valuable opportunity to pause, connect and consider their journey ahead.
A central focus of the day was learning about Felicity - a deep and lasting sense of joy. Students were invited to explore what true joy looks like in their own lives, moving beyond fleeting happiness to a more meaningful understanding of fulfilment grounded in purpose, relationships and service to others.
Students were also privileged to hear from the Cardoner Network, who shared insights into the joy that can be found in serving others. Their message encouraged students to see service not as an obligation, but as a life-giving opportunity to build relationships and bring hope to those around them.
Throughout the day, students engaged in reflective sessions exploring the qualities they recognise in one another. This provided a meaningful space to affirm the strengths within their cohort, celebrate the gifts each individual brings, and deepen their sense of connection as a community.
As they look towards life beyond school, students were guided to consider their future pathways with intention and purpose. Whether through further study, work or service, they were encouraged to reflect on how their values and experiences can shape the choices they make.
Social Justice Captains Aleeza and Grace, and Diversity Leader Elisa participated in a Loreto Schools Network webinar, joining with peers from across the community to share ideas, experiences, and a collective passion for making a difference.
Throughout the gathering, our students spoke with confidence and purpose about their advocacy, particularly their commitment to “opening young eyes to the world.” They reflected on the importance of raising awareness among their peers, helping others to see beyond their immediate surroundings and to better understand the realities faced by people in different contexts. Their message was clear: social justice begins with awareness, but it must lead to action.
Loreto students from across Australia engaged in meaningful conversations, exchanged practical ideas, and were inspired by the diverse ways young people are responding to injustice in their own communities and beyond. This opportunity not only celebrated the work already being done but also sparked new ideas for bringing issues to the wider community.
We thank Carolyn Young, Director of Mission at Loreto Ministries, for organising this event.
