From the Principal
It is the middle of October and I am cautiously optimistic that Spring might actually be on the way. I cannot wait for blue skies and warm weather.
There are a number of things happening this term. Please check the dates for your diary.
As you will be aware, we seem to have an outbreak of COVID with both staff and students affected. The symptoms include a really bad headache, high fevers, body aches and sometimes nausea. Please keep your child at home if they are unwell.
School Athletics Day
We are running our Athletics Day on Wednesday 15 November. We would love to have a parent volunteer to run a "javelin" station. We have foam rockets that the children throw around. Pleae contact the office if you would like to run this for us.
Year 6s who are going to AJHS
Please remember that you need to enrol at AJHS as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

Mufti Day
Our student leaders have asked to organise a mufti day with a halloween theme. We will hold this on Tuesday 31 October. Please note that your child does not have to wear halloween mufti - they can wear whatever they wish on this day. We aks for a gold coin donation as a way to raise funds for the school.
End of Year Disco
Our FORS team will organise a disco on Friday 8 December. The theme for those who love to dress-up will be Summer holidays/Christmas.
Swimming
It is our intention to start swimming in Week 6. This is assuming that the pool is functioning properly by then.

Please remember our very important meeting for parents of this year's Year 3, 4 and 5s on Tuesday 7 November at 5.30pm.
Out of School Care
We are still having people who are not booking their children into out of school care. Please, please can you make sure that you either phone the office or email office@ridgeview.school.nz to book your child into before or after school care. Please do not assume that we know when your child will be in care. For health and safety reasons, we need to know who is meant to be in care and who is not.
Matchbox Cars
Do you have any small cars that you no longer need? We would love to take them off your hands.
Community Volunteers
I am still looking for opportunities to take small groups of children (3 or 4) into the community on Friday morning for an hour or two. If you know of someone we could help or something we could do, please make contact with the school.
Spare Clothes
Please can you make sure that your child has a spare set of clothes in their bag - it does not have to be school uniform. This is for all children.
