As we enjoy the warm weather and the spring blossoms, we have been closely monitoring and noticing an increase in the UV ratings. Accordingly, students will now need to wear their school hats when outdoors, ie recess, lunch and PE lessons, and children not wearing a school hat when outdoors will be directed to the undercover court area. To further protect our students, sunscreen is readily available in each of our classrooms, however, we encourage all parents to put sunscreen on their children before coming to school.
As I was driving to work, it was joyful to see posters of our students on various bus shelters promoting ‘Catholic Schools Open Week’ and of course our school. During this week, we also completed school tours as we highlighted the great things about Catholic Education and St Brigid’s. We thank you for choosing St Brigid’s for your child's education and we truly value working in partnership with you every day.
It is with much excitement that we announce that with the support of CESA, we have engaged architects and landscape architects from DesgnInc and Clover respectively, to work on making improvements to our learning spaces, our school buildings and creating a Master Plan. Members of our Student Representative Council (SRC) met with the architects to consult, evaluate and ideate. The students were enthusiastic, creative and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to hear from the architects how impressed they were at the students insights and empathy. Consultation then took place with staff members, who were enthusiastic, creative and practical. The school board, as parent representatives will be consulted at the next board meeting. We look forward to viewing the plans and possibilities and sharing these with you as we continue to grow and flourish together.
As we enter into the final few weeks of the term, we still have two major exciting events to look forward to:
On Thursday 21st September we welcome Lyn Sharrat author of Clarity, as well as educators from the Northern Territory, system leaders from CESA and also principals and leaders of learning from local school communities. We feel blessed to welcome these visitors and showcase the amazing learning happening at St Brigid’s.
On the last day of Term, Friday 29th September, it is going to be Sports Day. The students are already earning Spirit Cup points for their houses by cleaning up any litter and completing acts of kindness. We look forward to seeing all the family at this special occasion.
At this time of year, we undertake a significant amount of planning for the year ahead. To assist us in this process, can you please let us know via telephone or email, if you child will NOT be attending St Brigid’s for 2024.
Learning conversations took place in Week 7. If you were unable to attend please contact your child's teacher or leadership to re-arrange these important meetings. We value working in partnership with you.
Thank you for your continued support,
Yours in Peace, Love and Learning,
