Western Metropolitan Region Athletics

Yesterday 9 students represented OGPS at the Western Metropolitan Regain Athletics meet in Keilor. To reach this stage of Athletics is a fantastic achievement and something the students should all be so very proud of.

From this event we had 4 students qualify for the Sate Championships! Below are the results from our athletes;

  • Mia-Rose came 2nd and qualified for the 200m
  • Our girls 11yr 4x100m relay team came first and broke a PB while doing so. The team of four is Mia-Rose, Zara , Harlow and Ava.
  • Jed just missed out on state qualifications coming 3rd in the high jump
  • Primrose came 6th in the 800m
  • Arabella and Alice raced against each other in the 1500m coming 6th and 9th respectively
  • Alana placed 7th in her 100m

We are all so very proud of you all for challenging yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone and performing so well under pressure.

We wish Mia-Rose, Harlow, Zara and Ava all the very best in the state championships in the coming weeks.

New Recycling Station

As our new recycling station is busy being built we have made a temporary recycling station in the SLC.

Families are encouraged to start collecting recycling products at home and to drop them off at SLC.

Items to start collecting:

  • Milk bottle tops
  • Bread tags
  • Batteries
  • Old runners
  • Coffee pods
  • Any old stationary items (pens, textas, glues etc.)
  • Blister packs

Coffee Cup Recycling

It is estimated that over 1 billion cups end up in landfill each year because they need to be processed separately to be recycled.

Ocean Grove Primary School now has a coffee cup recycling station situated in the foya of the school office. We encourage our school community to recycle any coffee cups here!

Upcycle Competition

Congratulations to all the participates of the the Upcycle Competition. We were blown away with the creativity of all the entrance. Winners will be announced this week.
