The Apple Fair!

What a fabulous day we had last Sunday at the Apple fair. There was an absolutely brilliant attendance and it was a huge success. There was a very positive vibe throughout the entire day which the live music certainly added. The school band, New Generation, was brilliant as was our super talented Performing Arts teacher Dallas Holden. A huge thank you to the Apple Fair committee and all volunteers. The hours upon hours of work and preparation that went into this event has been extraordinary. Games, food carts, drinks, rides, an animal farm, great music and a whole lot more was enjoyed by everyone. A special mention goes to Georgia Fiske and Adele Smith who put in above and beyond to ensure the day was a success. Their organisation was outstanding. Last but certainly not least we thank the office staff Lara, Anna, Jenny, Kristy, Lesley and Judy for the wonderful work they have done throughout the Apple Fair organisation period and on the day. A brilliant team effort all round.

On behalf of the Ocean Grove Primary School Community, we send our admiration and heartfelt thanks to the Apple Fair committee representatives. A photo gallery is further down in the newsletter.

World Teachers’ Day  Friday, 27 October

World Teachers’ Day is held internationally on Tuesday 5th of October. As it usually falls during the school holidays in many parts of Australia, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day on 27 October 2023. World Teachers’ Day is a chance to recognise and celebrate the teachers who are making, or have made, an impact in our lives. Whether you're a current student, have children in school, or have been out of school for many years, World Teachers’ Day is a chance to say, ‘thank you’.

One of the best thank you gifts I received from one of my students was a homemade card, beautifully decorated with an amazing message inside written by the student. So a wonderful thank you for your child’s teacher would be a homemade card with a heartfelt message. Some flowers picked from the garden would also be lovely.

Head Lice

Unfortunately, we have had a couple of head lice cases reported this week. The best way to avoid the spread of lice is to ensure that all hair past shoulder length should be tied back. If we all work together on this we can keep it under control.

Geelong Cup Holiday October 25th 2023

There will be no school next Wednesday, October the 25th  as it is Geelong Cup Holiday.
