Tenses and Poetry
The class four students have been busy with maths and poetry so far this term. In Main Lesson we have learnt about writing in different tenses and linked it to a tale of three norns from the Norse Mythology. These three norns look over the lifespan of every living thing and focus on its past, present and its future, as we have done with our writing. Tied to this we have been practising some poetry and have made some clever beautiful pieces in our Main Lesson books. Below are some images of poetry, imagery from the Main Lesson, and students' thoughts about it.
Ivy says “I really liked being able to do drawings to go with my writing, and loved that I could write what I wanted in a poem.”
Teo says “Haiku was so much fun, I really liked that type of poetry.”
Jethro says “I really liked cinquain, limericks and free verse poetry.”
Leo says “I like the drawings and I really liked haiku and free verse poetry.”
Ambrose says “I really liked shape poetry, free verse poetry and making drawings to go with poems.”
