Ed in Faith: Reflecting on the Examen

During our Education in Faith lessons, we have been focusing on the Examen—a method of prayerful reflection. Through stories, discussions and reflections, our students are learning to appreciate the importance of reflection and gratitude in their daily lives. We are thrilled to witness their growing awareness of faith-based practices and values.

Sentence Writing

Our writing lessons have had a major focus on  four different types of sentences: questions, statements, commands and exclamations. We used our excursion to CERES as our inspiration to write different types of sentences.

Inquiry

As part of our unit about Sustainability, we are carrying out an experiment, to see what kinds of rubbish will decompose. We worked together to select some waste from our lunch boxes and buried them in soil. We have predicted what will decompose quickly, and what might take longer. Later in the term we will dig these back up to see what happens to each different type of waste.
