State Team Basketball Trials

Congratulations to Bodhi Baker who has made it through to Conference Trials for the State Team Basketball Trials. We wish Bodhi all the best when he travels to Ballarat on Tuesday 30th April to attend these trials. Good luck Bodhi. 

 

State Team Netball Trials

We wish Ruby Hay and Natalie Farquharson all the best, when they travel to Ballarat, Friday 17th May to participate in the State Team Conference Netball Trials. Good luck girls!

 

Colac Division Lawn Bowls Tournament

Congratulations to the four teams that competed in the Colac Division Lawn Bowls Tournament yesterday at the Colac Bowling Club (Lake Bowling Club). The following Sacred Heart teams were the winners of their pools on the day and will now attend the Greater Western Regional event (date to be confirmed) – Sacred Heart Blue, Sacred Heart Red and Sacred Heart Yellow. Sacred Heart Green were Runners-Up in their pool.

A big thank you to Kate Borch and Deb Buchanan for all their support on the day, and to the Jane Donovan, Mav Turrner and their team of helpers who were a wonderful support to the bowling teams on the day.

Football Gala Day

On Thursday 2nd May, some of the Year 3/4 students will travel to Colac Central Reserve to play in the Football Gala Day. This is a modified AFL game that consists of nine players on a smaller football field.

Cross Country

As part of the Physical Education Program, we are currently running our Cross Country event. Selected students will travel to the Colac Golf Club on Thursday 9th May to compete in the Colac Division Cross Country.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball and netball.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is basketball.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Basketball is my favourite sport because I like running and I get to bounce the ball.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sports moment was when I got my first goal in basketball.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport are my jumping and dodging skills and I am good at practising.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I like to run and it is fun.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Sam Kerr.

8. Why are they your favourite? Sam is my favourite sports person because she is an awesome soccer player for the Matildas.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am a good sport, fun, funny, kind and excited.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball, fishing and football.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sports to play are basketball and fishing. 

3. Why is this your favourite sport? I love basketball because I get to do tricks with the ball and I like fishing because I get to catch big fish.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I shot 20 points in basketball.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My biggest strength in sport is my determination.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I like to get outside and I have fun when I play sport.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Stephen Curry, a NBA basketballer for the Golden State Warriors.

8. Why are they your favourite? Stephen Curry is my favourite sports person because he is so good at basketball.

9. What is your favourite sporting team?  Collingwood is my favourite sports team.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach or team mates would say that I am good at motivating the team.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is cricket.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Cricket is my favourite sport because you get to bowl, bat, field and wicket keep.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I caught my first fish when I was fishing.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my speed and I am good at catching and passing a ball.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it entertains me and I have lots of fun.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Geelong Cats player Tom Hawkins.

8. Why are they your favourite? Tom Hawkins is my favourite player because he can kick straight.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Geelong Cats.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am a good team member because I am not greedy and I pass the ball to my team mates.
