Winter is here, and with it comes the thrilling return of our junior school winter sports season! Our dedicated athletes have been training rigorously, gearing up for an exhilarating season of soccer, netball, and hockey. The air is buzzing with anticipation as students, coaches, and parents prepare for the upcoming competitions.
Our soccer teams have been practicing their dribbling, passing, and shooting skills, focusing on teamwork and strategic plays. The players have shown impressive progress, and their enthusiasm during the drills promises a season filled with dynamic matches. We are eager to see them bring their best game to the field.
In the netball court, our young athletes have been refining their passing, shooting, and footwork techniques. The precision and agility displayed by the players during practice sessions are a testament to their hard work and dedication. The team spirit is stronger than ever, and we look forward to their performance in the matches that lie ahead.
Hockey practice has seen our players mastering stick handling, shooting, and defensive skills, preparing them for the fast-paced and strategic nature of the game. The teamwork and perseverance exhibited by our hockey teams are inspiring, ensuring they are match-ready and set to compete at their best.
The commitment of our students across all sports has been remarkable. After-school practices have not only enhanced their physical capabilities but also built character and sportsmanship. Our coaches have been fantastic, providing expert guidance and motivational support to help each athlete reach their potential.
As the season unfolds, we invite the entire school community to come out and support our teams. Your cheers and encouragement make a huge difference to our players' confidence and spirit. Let’s wear our school colours proudly and cheer for every goal!

As the force awakened on Saturday 4 May, KWS Infinity, Vortex Vipers, Quantum Quakes, and Eclipse Eagles converged on the pitch, undeterred by the rain's challenge. Amidst the falling droplets, each team unleashed their talents, engaging in a fierce battle for supremacy. Across the fields, precision passes and thunderous shots echoed against the backdrop of rain-soaked cheers. Through the downpour, moments of brilliance emerged as players channeled their inner Jedi, showcasing grit and finesse. With the final whistle, the rain-drenched grounds bore witness to the promise of an epic season ahead, a journey fueled by the force within.
Congratulations to our incredible teams who participated in the Central West Primary Rugby 7s Gala Day on Thursday 4 April. Despite some tough opposition, our Year 5 and 6 boys poured their hearts into the game, showcasing determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. A special shoutout to our KWS 2 team for their outstanding performance, making it to the 3rd place playoff in a thrilling match! Well done, boys! Huge thanks to NSW Rugby for organizing such a fantastic event, and a massive appreciation to Miss Boland and Jimmy Cardiff for their invaluable coaching and support on the day.
As our season ends, it's pleasing to reflect on the two terms spent training each week and playing in our local Orange community competition.
This term we have entered three teams in our local competition. The U10 Dragons played in a non-competitive competition focusing on learning the game of touch football and having fun. Mrs Fatai coached the U10 Dragons throughout the term, and it has been tremendous to see their skills and confidence flourish.
Our U12 Taipans and U12 Vipers played in the competitive competition in the local community. Both teams worked hard throughout the season. The Taipans placed fourth on the ladder overall at the end of the season. This was an incredible achievement as they had missed a couple of games due to forfeit being absent for other school commitments. The Vipers finished second on the ladder and entered the grand final against an undefeated team. The Vipers put in an incredible effort to come away with the win, 3 tries to 2. Special mention goes to Grace Lowther who was awarded most valuable player in the game. Huge thanks should go to Mrs Fatai, Miss Boland and Ms Caro for coaching our touch football teams through an outstanding season! Well done to all players and coaches!
On Saturday the under 11 Kinross Wolaroi netball team played against Life Studio Dragonflies, even though it was 9 to 2 their way, it was a very good first game.
More than half the team had never played before, so the first quarter was a bit rocky, but by the third quarter we all got used to it, and we scored two goals. One each from Marley and Bella.
Special mention to Millie and Sarah for their great defence, bracing for us to win the next big game!
