Principal

Dear Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College Community,

Welcome back to Term 2, I hope everyone had time with family and friends over Easter and throughout the break.

Our last Newsletter for Term 1 was published at the end of the second last week. Accordingly, I want to acknowledge the following key events and thank the staff involved.

SSV Regional Athletics

Thank you to Travis Newton and all the staff who worked with our student-athletes who competed in the Regional Athletics Championships held on 26 March 2024. The College was the overall winner of the event.

Holy Thursday Easter Liturgy

Thank you Sarah Roscoe-Smith and her Year 12 Youth Ministry class, who were also supported by some of the students in the Year 11 Youth Ministry group. This was a prayerful, moving, and effective liturgy that was greatly appreciated by the staff, students, and families present.  Also. thank you to all the staff who supported Sarah in the liturgy.

Presentation of Leadership Badges

Following the Liturgy, we had the opportunity to present our student Leaders with their badges. This was to happen earlier in the term at our Ash Wednesday Mass which was cancelled due to the impact of the extreme weather event the previous day. Thank you to Scott Blencowe for all his work in organisation for the presentation.

Please be aware of the following upcoming events.

House Cross-Country Competition.

Next Tuesday we will hold our annual Cross-Country House competition. Thanks in advance to Travis Newton and all who are supporting him in the preparation of the event.

ANZAC Day

As a College, we will commemorate ANZAC Day next Wednesday, 24 April, as staff and students will not be present on 25 April.

Thank you to Patrick McCarthy and Jodie Connell for their preparation. Also thank you in advance to Beth Winterhalter who will play The Last Post and The Rouse and members of our Choir who lead the singing of the National Anthem.

Year 7 2025 Enrolments

I would like to remind all current families that enrolment applications are due on 31 May 2024. Formal applications must be made for students for enrolment into Year 7 next year. We will accept applications after that date, but as a matter of justice, priority will be given to those who have submitted their applications on time.
