1E

By Alex Rowland

At the beginning of Term 2 1E have been learning about place value and the different ways we can represent and breakdown numbers. We have learnt about digits and how they can be combined to create larger numbers. Our place value house allowed us to break up a number and identify the value of each digit in the number. We then explored how M.A.B. blocks could be used to represent numbers and help us partition our numbers into an addition equation. Learners selected their own 3-digit number and created an ice cream with each scoop representing their number through a place value house, MAB blocks and partitioning.
