Year 12 Post School Career Planning
The end of Year 12 is a critical time in a child's development. It can be full of excitement and anticipation for the future. It can also be filled with anxiety and fear if students are unclear on their pathway or how to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Mrs Daniela Dlugocz s is our Careers and VET Coordinator and is an accredited Career Counsellor with the Career Industry Council of Australia. She is available during this time to meet with students and their parents to assist them through this process. Mrs Dluglocz will be making time for every year 12 student at The King's College to ensure that they are confident, empowered and excited about their post-school destinations. At this meeting, students will complete an Individual Pathway Plan that outlines their aspirations, goals and actions to complete in the lead-up to finishing Year 12. The meetings will cover any or all of the following:
- Exploring a student's interests, values, and aspirations and matching them to potential occupations and careers.
- Identifying a path to obtaining work or additional training to achieve those goals
- Setting up a plan to ensure that students are assisted with applications for TAFE, University, and employment (E.g., resumes, application letters, etc.)
Students can make appointments to see Mrs Dlugocz during lunch or study periods to participate in these meetings. Where parents wish to attend with their child, the meetings can occur at any time.
