College and Community Partnerships

Kwinana Industries Council (KIC)

The King's College has a strong partnership with the Kwinana Industries Council

The Kwinana Industrial Area is the home to many large industrial companies, and are responsible for the employment of around 30,000 workers, direct and indirect.  Two thirds of these live within 15 kms of their workplace.  The communities surrounding the industrial area are deeply connected to industry, and have been since the first refinery was built around 60 years ago.

The KIC Education Development Program (EDP) was created to improve this understanding, and to create pathways for the students in the region’s high schools to enter the industrial workforce.

Through the partnership between The King's College and The Kwinana Industries Council, "iPrograms" are offered to Year 10 students enabling them to explore careers and occupations that they would not hear about otherwise.

Students from The King's College also have access to KIC pre-apprenticeship and traineeship programs in Year 11 and 12.

Called to Teach?

Our vision to be an exceptional Christ-centred learning community now extends into growing and investing in Christ-centred educators of the future.

The King’s College is excited to partner with The St Phillip’s Teaching School to offer an innovative and authentic teacher training experience.

Enrolment for a Bachelor or Master’s Degrees in Education through St Phillip’s provides a practical teacher training program, with placement in a classroom at The King’s College from the first day of study, with the guidance of a dedicated mentor within a supportive Christian school community - including a paid employment day once a week.
